Belorado to Agés
Today was another lovely day. We walked up Montes de Oca (1150m from 800m) and then through pine forests down the other side to Agés.
I could see my breath in the torch light as we walked out of Belorado and thought how different it was to the heat of just a few days ago.
The sunrise turned the few clouds various shades against the blue sky and the first rays of sun kissed the fields on the mountainside.
We walked through the dappled shade of the forest. A robin flew right in front of us and landed on a branch just feet away. After saying it’s good morning it darted into the forest and we continued lighter for the encounter.
The fresh smell of the pine trees in the morning air of the mountain made us feel alive.
We reached Agés by mid day. It’s a small village and the first Abergue we have stayed at that caters for vegetarians. Our host was a very kind and good humoured motherly lady and we both enjoyed a tasty homemade meal served by her son. He was a right comedian and made us feel very welcome.
We shared a communal meal with people from Israel, Mexico, USA and Italy.
