Day Twenty Six

The sun celebrates a new day
Painting clouds orange
And bands of blue across the sky

Santa Catalina to Foncebadón

A good night’s sleep but eyelids were heavy. The early morning stars shone through a thin veil of high clouds and when sunrise came the blue and orange contrast was special.

The terrain was flat or low hills until Rabanal where we stopped for refreshments.

This picturesque village had a mountainous feel to it. We bought supplies and started our ascent.

Edit

Arriving at Foncebadón we had climbed to over 1400m and walked about 17km and both felt great.

Albergue Monte Irago served a vegetarian meal and we are ready to climb to the highest part of the Camino tomorrow morning for sunrise – the Cruz de Ferro.
