The French Chapter – Day 24 – Nantes to Monnières

An early start took us out of the city. We could tell when dog walkers chatted to us! Along the river and through vineyards until we stopped at Monnières. What a gem this place turned out to be, Claude showed us to the municipal Gîte for pilgrims – he was such a warm welcome to the village. We went to the local bar to get a drink to cool down after walking and ended up chatting and drinking with everyone in the bar! Thanks Charles, Steeve, Patrick and Pat and the gang for a great afternoon. The warm hearted welcome we received touched us. If you are ever in the area I would recommend a stop here! It’s a gem! We walked 25km today.

We saw a fox, a kestrel, a rabbit and a deer all around the same hey bail today. I bet that doesn’t happen too often.

The kestrel swooped the fox and the deer bolted. It was a lucky rabbit.

The municipal Gîte is great (€20)

Charles started a conversation with us at the local and we ended up with the whole bar buying us drinks.

The local grocery shop was open on a Sunday!

oh yes, I also lost a pole tip today!
