We started walking just before 6am and were at the wine fountain before we knew it but the fountain was dry! Julia was most disappointed. We walked off the disappointment by climbing the next 9 km and enjoyed the beautiful views. There was a cafe at Ayegui and Villamayor de Monjardin and a van serving freshly squeezed orange juice between there and Los Arcos. The weather was kind to us and we had a wonderful day. We chatted with Hope from the UK who is 18 years old and walking on her own – fantastic! We also walked with Jose and Carman (a Spanish vegetarian!) and we bumped into Simon and Di a couple of times too.
On the way into Los Arcos we saw vegan pizza advertised – times are changing. A great day on the Camino.
We booked an apartment for €30 each.
We bought vegan pizza, biscuits and wine from the Panaderia on the way in.
