We left at 6am and climbed Sierra de Atapuerca. The lights of Burgos twinkled in the distance. After descending we crossed the rolling hills towards the airport and a deer said goodbye to us.
We found the route along the river into Burgos which is a much nicer way than through the industrial parts of the city.
Around a bend and the cathedral revealed it’s self. We were there and it’s the end of a chapter for Julia and Sue who fly back home tomorrow. For Fi and I the journey continues. I am very happy my sister has discovered the magic of the Camino.
We are staying in a hotel near the cathedral – Hotel Mesón del Cid (€100)
Being Sunday a lot of restaurants were not open so we used HappyCow to find Viva La Pepa which has vegetarian options marked on the menu.
