After breakfast with Phil & Carol we left around sunrise but it was late rising in the mountains. Walking through some beautiful villages before the steep ascent started. We were ascending 200m roughly every 2.5km. We had a delicious veggie burger in La Faba at the El Refugio Albergue and continued up. The path opened to the views around us. An orange juice at Laguna de Castilla fueled the last 1/3 of the ascent to O Cebreiro. It was a beautiful sunny day and we took the high road to Liñaris.
We checked into Linar Do Rei (€45) and Fi cooked a lovely meal from ingredients bought from the only shop here. Liñaris is a very small village (no restaurant).
Phil and Carol went on to Fonfria so we’ll catch up with them tomorrow. It was nice to see Julie who took a horse up the mountain today. Jill and Jim from the US are staying in O Cebreiro today. It’s quiet in Liñaris.
